Municipalities, cities, and metropolitan areas must prepare themselves now for the challenges of the future. Trends and developments are already evident today that will lead to a fundamental rethinking of existing urban concepts and different ways of developing future solutions. These trends include increased urbanization, demographic shifts, growing consumption of resources, a more pronounced blurring of our private and professional lives, the energy revolution and the resulting changes in mobility. New opportunities have also been created as a result of increased digitization and citizens are increasingly demanding involvement in the planning and development processes related to where they live. The future of urban living spaces should be designed such that integrative approaches can increase a city’s quality of life while simultaneously reducing its energy and resource consumption. The lecture series invites you to join the broader discussion around this subject.
